Notes |
Commissioned nationally by J.C. Penny, Inc. for the Bicentennial Musical Celebration. Concert notes on conductor's score: This music consists of two sections: a chorale prelude and a festive dance. The prelude joyfully reflects upon our heritage of religious freedom while the spirit of the dance is that of exuberant celebration. They may be programmed separately on appropriate occasions, in which case they should be titled, respectively, "Joyful Prelude," and "Festive Dance." |
