Cornet solo. One of the greatest of the American standard song; "Stormy Weather" lends itself well to modern, lush harmonies. Particular care must be given to the phrasing, dynamics and balance of the chords, - in particular when the cornets are playing "dead tone." The cornet solo at the beginning should be played in a brilliant, almost "ad-lib" style. |
