Donated to Marshall's Band by J.D. Parr of the Baker University band. Brass
section feature. Notes about the composer and arranger on folder:
About the Composer: One of England's brightest and newest talents, Roger Webb is
known to millions of Britons as a pianist and composer. As a composer, he has
written music for many BBC television productions and for a number of films,
including "One Brief Summer", "Bartleby", "Burke and Hare", and "Au Pair". He
has acted as Musical Director and arranged for various record companies
providing musical backgrounds for such artists as Shirley Bassey, Topol, Des
O'Connor, Eddie Fisher, Bobby Darin and Brook Benton. As pianist with the Roger
Webb Trio, he has appeared on many British radio and TV programs.
About the Arranger: John Cacavas was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and
educated at Northwestern University. After serving as a staff arranger for the
United States Army Band in Washington, D.C., he moved to New York City and
composed background music for such television productions as "The Armstrong
Circle Theatre", "The DuPont Show of the Week", and he arranged and conducted
for "Repertoire Workshop", "Stage Two" and "Look Up and Live". He has twice won
the George Washington Honor Award presented by the Freedoms Foundation, Valley
Forge, Pennsylvania.
