| Notes |
Donated to Marshall's Band by J.D. Parr of the Baker University band. Solo for
trap (double) drums and band. Concert notes on the conductor's score:
Composer's note:
The intriguing title of this work has great suspense value on a program. Keen
indeed would be the mind to which its relation to music would be self evident.
But when the band begins to arrange itself and the drummer takes his place as
soloist, the whole matter becomes somewhat clarified. As the work gets under
way and the drum solo assumes its desired importance, the significance of the
title becomes quite apparent. The drummer is offered a rather exacting part,
requiring a comprehensive knowledge of the routines and considerable ingenuity.
