Notes |
Donated to Marshall's Band by J.D. Parr of the Baker University band. Composer's note on conductor's score: This is an American rhapsodic composition in concert form for piano with band (or 2nd piano). Following the suggestion of the title, it consists of "musical conversation" between the soloist and the band. It was composed to fill the need for a work of moderate length for this combination. The thematic material is passed back and forth between the piano and the band with occasional cadenzas and solo passages for the piano. [text continues with specific notes for conductor] |
